The Teen Interfaith Council learned about the Sikh tradition and helped serve at the langar, the meal that is offered to anyone who wishes to come to the Gurdwara. Thanks to Steve Herrera for the photos and video.
Diwali is the Hindu Festival of Lights. The Teen Council was hosted by Shyama’s family, who is a Hindu member of the Teen Council.

Shayda Sales participated in the Silicon Valley Teen Interfaith Leadership Council. In February, she traveled to the United Nations as part of World Interfaith Harmony Week. She created a video that briefly shows some of the experiences she and three other teens from United Religions Initiative Cooperation Circles enjoyed.

The Teen Interfaith Leadership Council traveled to New Mexico in July to visit religious communities, engage in dialogue and community service, and to make new friends. Accompanied by SiVIC Board Members Deacon Steve Herrera and Diane Fisher, the students learned more about the religious diversity of the US, and learned skills for sharing their religious traditions with one another.
